What began in the humble home kitchen of Mrs. Spiers has grown into a trusted name in quality, freshly made food delivered directly to your door. As we launch our new website, we’re proud to welcome both longtime supporters and new friends to discover (or rediscover) the Spier’s way.
🌿 Rooted in Tradition
Back in the late ’70s, Mrs. Spiers turned her passion for cooking into something remarkable. With ingredients from respected local suppliers like Douglas Mills of Belbroughton, she crafted seasonal menus that families looked forward to, especially her now-legendary Christmas dishes, which we’ll be honouring this year in a very special way (stay tuned).
That foundation of quality, service, and local pride still drives everything we do today.
A New Chapter
In March 2023, Spier’s Salads entered an exciting new era. Acquired by chef Martin Sweeney — who brings decades of culinary experience from both the UK and Ireland — Spier’s has continued to evolve while staying true to its roots. Martin is joined by our incredibly talented head chef Mark, whose career spans across top kitchens in the UK, Ireland, and the U.S., including the prestigious Conrad Hilton in America. Together with our hardworking kitchen and delivery teams, they’re taking our food to the next level.
Our menus are built around locally-sourced meats, fruits, vegetables, and even homemade chutneys, sauces, fillings, crafted fresh each day to suit your needs. Whether you’re after a light lunch, hearty salad, or catering for a larger gathering, we’re here to serve fresh, flavourful food tailored to your dietary requirements – without ever compromising on quality.
🔪 Our Kitchen, Reimagined
To support our growing ambitions, we’ve recently moved to our new facilities with state-of-the-art kitchen systems designed for both efficiency and sustainability. Our new kitchen is smartly divided into dedicated prep zones, covering everything from raw meat and fish to vegetables, pastries, and hot dishes. This structure not only helps us stay hyper-organised, but also keeps food safety at the heart of everything we do.
We’ve also installed a brand-new air extraction system with advanced grease and ozone filtration, making us a better neighbour by reducing emissions, managing odours, and keeping noise to a minimum. Our high-performance ovens and upgraded cooking equipment help us keep up with demand, while also being more energy-efficient and eco-conscious. And to keep our ingredients at their best, our new walk-in refrigeration systems ensure optimal freshness from delivery to plate.
Oh! Did we mention our shiny new Thermomix? It’s already inspiring some seriously creative dishes.
