World Food Day 2025: Spiers Salads’ Commitment to Freshness, Fairness & Future

Food has power — to care, collaborate and create. This World Food Day, we’re pulling back the curtain on how Spiers Salads strives every day to make that power positive. From our sourcing to our menu, kitchen practices to community work — here’s how food at Spiers is designed to do good.
1. Fresh, Local & Seasonal by Design
We build our menus around what’s in season, what’s local, and what reduces food miles. By working hand-in-hand with growers in London and nearby regions, we not only support local agriculture — we deliver peak flavour. Bonus: we harness local London honey in our dressings and glazing to add depth, identity, and sweetness straight from home.
2. Zero-Waste Thinking That Tastes Delicious
Our kitchen turns potential waste into inspiration. Vegetable peels, starchy ends, and leftover bits become new components in soups, dressings, or creative menu items. That’s circular cooking in action.
3. Menus for Every Palate & Need
At Spiers, inclusivity isn’t a ‘trend’ — it’s built into the menu! Whether you’re plant-based, avoiding gluten, or mindful of allergens, you’ll find plenty of options. Our soups, salads, and sandwiches are thoughtfully composed not just for taste, but for nutrition and balance. We draw from global traditions — bringing diversity to every bite.
4. Honouring Culture Through Cuisine
Many of our dishes pay homage to celebrated food traditions — recipes passed down, spices shared across borders, flavour stories told in every bite. We’re excited to let you taste Mediterranean herbs, North African spice blends, and Asian umami in our offerings — always with respect.
5. Impact That Reaches Beyond the Kitchen
We see our role as more than caterers. Spiers supports local shelters, offers training opportunities, and works to uplift individuals from marginalised communities. Food is how we connect, but it’s community that we build.
6. Learning, Sharing & Inspiring Change
Spiers Salads isn’t just about what’s in your dish; it’s about what that dish represents: care for our planet, support for our community, and celebration of diversity.
This WFD, we invite you to join us in eating better, caring deeper, and connecting meaningfully. Let every bite count!
